– 2010 Youth Scholarship Program
Your American Cancer
Society is proud to announce the availability of a limited number of
college/continuing education scholarships for students under the age of
25. Eligibility guidelines are as follows:
Must have been diagnosed
with cancer before the age of 21, must be under the age of 25 at the time of
application, must be a legal resident of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, or
Wisconsin for a least one year,
Must be accepted to attend
an accredited two or four year university or vocational/technical school, must
complete the application process and must provide EFC score (see

The John Hughes Memorial
Scholarship - - by the Iowa Bankers Association
This scholarship was
established in 1986 by the Iowa Bankers Association as a memorial for banker John
Hughes from Hills, Iowa. In his memory, two scholarships are awarded each
year. These scholarships pay all room, board and tuition expenses for
recipients to attn the first year curriculum at the Iowa School of
Banking. This year the school will be held June 13-18, 2010 at the
Marriot Hotel in Cedar Rapids. Scholarship Criteria – be attending
any Iowa four-year college or university and have completed his/her junior year
and interested in a career in banking upon graduation, be majoring in business
or a related field, fill out application, attach a letter of recommendation and

Program
1,000 scholarships of
$1,000 each will be awarded to students in grades 9-12 living in the US &
Puerto Rico. Students need solid grades, are involved in volunteer

13th Annual ÒScholar
Athlete Milk Mustache of the YearÓ (SAMMY) 2010 Award Program
AmericaÕs Milk Processors
and USA TODAY are pleased to bring you the 13th annual Scholar
Athlete Milk Mustache of the YearÓ Award Program. The SAMMY 2010 Award
Program recognizes outstanding scholar athletes in grade 12 from high school
throughout the contiguous United States. From now until March 5, 2010
teachers, coaches, school counselors, athletic directors, parents and relatives
are encouraged to nominate a student athlete for the SAMMY 2010 Award.
Additionally, all high school seniors are allowed and encouraged to nominate
themselves. Judging of the nominees will be based on five criteria:
academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service and
milk experience. SAMMY 2010 applications will only be accepted online at

Sac County Soil and Water
Conservation District Awards
The Conservation Districts
of Iowa is sponsoring their scholarship program again in 2010. The Sac
County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is also sponsoring its
annual scholarship. Scholarships will be given to students pursuing
programs of study in any field of agriculture or natural resources. This
may include soil conservationist, conservation technician, civil engineer,
civil engineering technician, wildlife biologist, soil scientist, agronomist,
chemical or seed dealer, farm manager, conservation officer, naturalist,
veterinarian, or many others. Criteria consideration points
– 60 points for leadership, 40 points for scholastic achievement.
The Sac District will give out two scholarships again this year. First
place will be $300 and the second will be $150. The district winnerÕs
application will be sent to the regional competition with a chance of winning

3, 2010.

Iowa State University
– VEISHEA 2010
VEISHEA 2010 is delighted
to award both Leadership and Community Involvement Scholarships in the amount
of $500 each and a $1,000 VEISHEA Central Committee Ò72-Doug Harms Memorial
Scholarship to students entering Iowa State University in the fall of
2010. Leadership and Doug Harms scholarship criteria – have been
accepted to ISU, rank in the upper 15% of your high school class, have an ACT
of at least 26, exhibit involvement in high school and community positions,
particularly in leadership positions. The Community Involvement
scholarships criteria – have been accepted to ISU, minimum GPA of 3.0,
exhibit dedication towards volunteering in their community, and show potential
for continuing community involvement.

SIFE – Ethical
Dilemma Scholarship
Mount Mercy SIFE invites
you to participate in our second annual Ethical Dilemma challenge, with the
opportunity to win a $200 scholarship. Students are asked to write an
ethics essay regarding plagiarism. Our SIFE team and professors from
Mount Mercy will review each student essay. Requirements – Students
must be currently attending high school and graduating in 2010. Students
need to attend college in the fall of 2010 and provide Mount Mercy SIFE team
with the school address to which the money will be sent directly to the school
for tuition costs. The student must complete an essay of minimum of two
pages typed; double spaced explaining the ethical dilemmas and how these issues
affect our society. For an application form and more information see High

must be postmarked by March 31, 2010.

The Iowa Centennial
Memorial Foundation makes this scholarship possible. Any Iowa student who
plans to attend an Iowa college or university is eligible for this award.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit
qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display moral force of

2010 Iowa Farm Bureau
Federation Scholarship Program
In 2010, the Iowa Farm
Bureau Federation will award fifty-four $1,000 scholarship awards to students
pursuing the completion of a two or four-year undergraduate degree.
Eligibility guidelines
– son/daughter of Iowa Farm Bureau member, accepted to an accredited
college, university or community college, graduating in Spring 2010,or college
freshmen, sophomore or junior in a two or four-year accredited
college/university. Applicants must be working toward a degree in one of
the following 12 occupational areas of agriculture and or agribusiness –
Ag Production, Horticulture, Ag Sales & Service, Ag Products & Processing,
Forestry, Conservation, Mechanization, Agricultural Research, Economics,
Education, Ag Health and Wind Turbine Energy – See High School Guidance

Iowa State University
– ACACIA Leadership Scholarship
The ACACIA Leadership
Scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school senior
males who have demonstrated their ability to excel in the fields of academics,
extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship
is awarded by the Alumni Corporate Board of Acacia Fraternity at Iowa State

Buena Vista University
Scholarship competition
Days – January 20 and February 20. Students must be admitted to BVU
in order to be eligible their scholarships and awards.
Robert E. Byers Scholarship
Fund – Keep Iowa Beautiful
Through the leadership of
Bob Byers, Keep Iowa BeautifulÕs (KIB) Litter-Free School Campus program was
initiated in northwest Iowa in 2003. In memory o f Bob and his dedication to
our organization, KIB and the Byers family established the Robert E. Byers
Scholarship Fund. We are excited to offer up to four, $500 scholarships to
Iowa high school seniors in 2010. Students across Iowa enrolling in an
Iowa college or university to major in community enhancement or environmental
areas of study only are eligible.

Health Care Career
Scholarships
The Iowa Hospital
Association is ready to help health care students.
Through the Iowa Hospital
Education and Research Foundation, an Iowa Hospital Association affiliate,
IowaÕs hospitals have created a scholarship program to assist students pursuing
careers in health care. Scholarship recipients are awarded $3,000 per
academic year, with a maximum of $6,000 for two years. Work repayment in
Iowa hospitals is mandatory – scholarship recipients are required to work
in an Iowa hospital one year for each scholarship awarded. Eligibility
–be enrolled in an accredited health care education program (see list on
the IHA Web site-www.ihaonline.org or see High School Guidance Office), be
within two years of completing your professional education and be willing to
work for an Iowa hospital. See High School Guidance Office for more
