ACT PREP

We offer an ACT prep course here on campus in the Fall.

In addition to that prep course, here are links to three great websites that may be useful for students preparing for the ACT.

https://www.prepfactory.com/

-- an interactive website that allows students to work on each subject area and also allows students to work on different content modules within a subject that could be improved upon.

http://www.chegg.com/test-prep/act

-- a website to help students identify their strengths and weakness in order to boost their score, it also has many practice problems for students.

http://www.varsitytutors.com/practice-tests

-- a website with many different practice tests (ACT, ACCUPLACER, AP Subject tests, etc.)

We have also had many questions about when students should take the ACT.  We believe that if a student is college-bound, they should consider taking the ACT during their junior year.  If a junior would like to improve his or her score, they will still have plenty of chances to do so.  By this time, they will have around three years of math, science, and english completed.  It does not hurt to take the ACT earlier, as repeating test conditions can also increase scores on these types of tests. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Herd (HS School Counselor) at 712-364-3371 or bherd@oabcig.org.
