WORK SESSION WITH

BCIG COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

CENTRAL OFFICE-IDA GROVE

The Odebolt-Arthur (OA) Community School Board of Education met in joint session with the Battle Creek Ida Grove (BCIG) Community School Board of Education on the above date and time. The following members were present: Traci Bengford, Naomi Lozier, Dani Trimble, and Jann Murphy. Also in attendance were Jeff Rasmussen, Kathy Leonard, Bev Bower, Stephanie Konradi, Berny Sohn, and Brian Riessen.

Superintendent, Dani Trimble opened the work session with a discussion on open meetings laws, parliamentary procedure, consent agenda and board member relationships with the community.

The group watched a video on school finance presented by Larry Sigel from the Iowa school Finance Information Services. Discussion was held on various topics during the presentation.

Superintendent, Trimble discussed the following topics and provided handouts pertaining to school finance for both OA and BCIG: fund balance, property tax rates, spending authority, certified enrollment, and supplementary weighting/operational sharing.

Traci Bengford closed the work session at 6:46 p.m.
