Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment

The state of Iowa has mandated a new statewide assessment for all students in grades 3-11.  The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) will be given to OABCIG student in the last quarter of the 2018-2019 school year.  For more information on this new assessment, please visit http://iowa.pearsonaccessnext.com/

K-8 students in the OABCIG district have access to all new Next Generation Science Standards science curriculum this year.  Amplify. Science has been adopted to support students' science learning. Rather than sitting and learning about science, students now have the opportunity to figure out science principles through hands-on experimentation, reflective writing, data collection, and digital simulation.  For more information about Amplify. Science, please visit https://www.amplify.com/curriculum/amplifyscience

The OABCIG English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum team is currently evaluating the curriculum and instruction used to teach ELA in the district.  We will use the information gathered in this evaluation to identify gaps in instruction.  Once all the data is compliled, the team will review resources, materials, and instructional strategies that can be used to improve ELA instructions.  Any purchases made will begin use in the 2019-2020 school year.
