Middle School TAG students had the chance to learn more about Andrew Carnegie's philanthropic vision first-hand on Tuesday, as they visited the Field-Carnegie Public Library in Odebolt. Julie Childers welcomed the students and gave them more information about the history of the Odebolt library. The vision and generosity of Andrew Carnegie and W. W. Field have made an impact on our educational opportunities locally for over 120 years.
OABCIG's Elementary & Middle School building had two special guests today to help kickoff Red Ribbon Week. Deputy Cruz from the Sac County Sheriff's Office talked with students about the dangers of drug use and brought his partner K9 Remo in to show students how together they are specially skilled and trained to carry out a variety of police tasks including searching for drugs, locating missing people, and protecting people.
6th Graders had a blast watching and participating with this hilarious duo from The National Theatre for Children, while learning how to be financially smart.
Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year.
