Reminder: 𝐎𝐀𝐁𝐂𝐈𝐆 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 will have a 1:00 pm dismissal on 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 25 for staff to participate in Professional Development.

Congratulations to the 𝐎𝐀𝐁𝐂𝐈𝐆 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐳 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝 and their director, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, on taking first place at the 𝐍𝐖𝐈𝐁𝐀 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐳 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 on Monday, the 16th. The festival is held in Le Mars, Iowa, and hosts over 50 competing bands from the northwest--middle school through high school. This comes after their first-place finish at the 𝐌𝐎𝐂-𝐅𝐕 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 on the 10th. The band will be performing their songs for the 𝐌𝐒 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭 in Odebolt on March 5th and will be performing at the OABCIG Music Boosters annual fundraiser, 𝐋𝐚𝐬 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, in Ida Grove on March 12th.

Today, our OABCIG Middle School students officially kicked off their own Olympic Games — a long-standing tradition that celebrates 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭. Each Olympic year, our middle school hosts its own version of the Games to inspire students to support one another and push beyond their limits.

A highlight of the ceremony is the lighting of the Olympic flame by someone who truly embodies these values. This year, we are proud to honor 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐲 as our torchbearer. 💙
She donates countless hours to school groups, volunteers at sporting events, coordinates 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞, and was recognized as a 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 for her leadership, dedication, and commitment to students and the community. She truly is a 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳, and we are honored to have Nurse Tiffany ignite the symbolic Olympic flame today. 🔥

Each 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 represents a different country and will compete in a variety of 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 over the next two weeks, aligning with the 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲. Along the way, students will learn about their countries, the athletes, and the rich history of the Olympic Games. 🌍❄️
