Middle School TAG students had the chance to learn more about Andrew Carnegie's philanthropic vision first-hand on Tuesday, as they visited the Field-Carnegie Public Library in Odebolt. Julie Childers welcomed the students and gave them more information about the history of the Odebolt library. The vision and generosity of Andrew Carnegie and W. W. Field have made an impact on our educational opportunities locally for over 120 years.

OABCIG's Elementary & Middle School building had two special guests today to help kickoff Red Ribbon Week. Deputy Cruz from the Sac County Sheriff's Office talked with students about the dangers of drug use and brought his partner K9 Remo in to show students how together they are specially skilled and trained to carry out a variety of police tasks including searching for drugs, locating missing people, and protecting people.

John Raab, retired software engineer from Lockheed Martin (who worked on several NASA projects, including the Magellan spacecraft) spoke with MS TAG students about his career. He encouraged all the students to persevere in the areas of math and science.

The OABCIG Nutrition Department would like to welcome all students back to school with a FREE breakfast on Monday, August 28th.
Breakfast is available for purchase each morning of school from 7:45 until school starts. Regular access to a healthy school breakfast is one of the best ways to support students' ability to learn and overall well-being.

We are looking at getting information on student availability during this summer for students who are currently in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade for a Youth Theatre Program.
This is an interest survey to determine the number of students available during the following times in the summer. Please fill out if your student is interested and available. This program is for students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades. There will be a registration fee of $30 per student/$70 for multiple family members (3 or more). This includes a camp t-shirt. Exact times and show will be determined based on the results of this interest survey. Please fill out by Monday, May 22nd.
