OABCIG Prom & After Prom 2025 would like to thank our local businesses and individuals in the OABCIG community as well as our OABCIG parents for providing a fun, safe, and memorable evening for our kids on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

OABCIG High School theater department will participate in the 2025 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase, presented by EMC Insurance Companies, in honor of the school's achievements for its November production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. Produced by Des Moines Performing Arts as the culmination of a year-long education initiative, the Showcase will be held at the Des Moines Civic Center on Thursday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. and will recognize a total of 103 adjudicated schools from across the entire state. OABCIG will be honored in a special video shown at the Showcase, in celebration of its receipt of an Outstanding Overall Technical and Creative Achievement Award - one of the program's highest honors. Select students will represent OABCIG by performing in a collaborative inter-school medley led by a guest Broadway music director and choreographer. Billie Oxendale and Caity Todd will showcase their award-winning work as Stage Manager and Lighting Design as part of the program's Behind-The-Scenes Awards track. OABCIG will also be recognized with the following awards and honors: OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN A PRINCIPAL ROLE: Anna Hoffman as “Mrs. Wormwood”, Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove High School, ROALD DAHL'S MATILDA THE MUSICAL Cecily Jacobson as “Matilda”, Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove High School, ROALD DAHL'S MATILDA THE MUSICAL SPECIAL RECOGNITION IN A PRINCIPAL ROLE: Kennedy Lerssen as “Miss Honey”, Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove High School, ROALD DAHL'S MATILDA THE MUSICAL SPECIAL RECOGNITION IN A FEATURED ENSEMBLE ROLE: Carson Boysen, Ella Boysen, Whitney Johnson, Zachariah Johnson, Hunter Maier, Jessica Masters, Sydney Neubauer and Justice Wells as “Bruce, Lavender, Alice, Tommy, Nigel, Eric, Hortensia, Amanda”, Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove High School, ROALD DAHL'S MATILDA THE MUSICAL Tickets to the Showcase, which start at $15, will go on sale on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10 AM at DMPA.org, the Des Moines Civic Center Ticket Office, and by phone at 515-246-2300. The Awards Showcase will be live-streamed at IowaPBS.org as part of a collaboration with Iowa PBS. Iowa PBS will also broadcast a highlights special of the event later this summer on dates to be announced.
