On Monday, our Middle School TAG students had the opportunity to visit the farm of Duane and Ellen Ernst! The Ernst family welcomed everyone for a special tour of their incredible "Pigseum," featuring a huge collection of all things pig-related. 🐷
Duane, Ellen, their son Gregor, and granddaughter Brynn were wonderful hosts - sharing fascinating stories and teaching students about German culture, where they lived for many years. One highlight of the visit included seeing a real piece of the Berlin Wall!

HS TAG participated in the 1st annual Morningside University Media Day. Stations included hands on activities necessary in producing a tv broadcast on Mustang TV, recording a PSA for KMSC Radio, & learning basic journalistic concepts by interviewing & writing a short article.

The OABCIG cross country program had a great season of growth and improvement from every runner, and we capped it off with another great experience at the Class 2A State Meet in Fort Dodge this morning.
Addi continues to shine and make a name for herself across the state with a 24th place finish out of 136 runners at a time of 20:24, faster than her state time last season! She moved from 32nd to 24th during the second mile and never gave away any ground. Last season, she finished in 40th place, so she cut off 16 places and had a very impressive day and season.
Hunter competed in his final cross country race of his HS career today and went out strongly. He finished in 28th place after being in 48th place at the 1 mile mark. He ran a 17:14, his second best time ever across his four years of running cross country. There was no better way to end his excellent XC career than what he did today.
Gabriel competed in his first state meet experience and continues to make his coaches and teammates proud. He finished in 71st place out of 140 runners with a time of 17:53. Gabriel learned a lot today about running across the elite of the state, and he completed one of the best individual seasons we've had in a while on the boys side. We can't wait to see where this experience and season take him from here over the next two years!

Huge congratulations to Briaunna Ackerman and Ella Boysen for representing OABCIG at the State Solo Qualifiers in Pella yesterday! Out of 70 dancers in Class V, both earned Division I ratings, and Ella placed in the Top 10—qualifying to perform her solo at State Dance in December for final Top 10 placement! Way to go ladies!
