Ms. Larson's 4th-grade class traveled back to the 1800's on Thursday! The Odebolt fourth graders went to country school, being taught by, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Wunschel, they learned what it was like to live and go to school during that time. They also toured the Stagecoach Inn and hiked out to the Pioneer Cemetary.

The Middle School TAG students had a chance to hear from Tim Youngquist, a former Odebolt-Arthur student. He shared the importance of using native prairie grasses in buffer strips in crop land. Students demonstrated the length of various prairie grass roots by pulling rope out of a covered box. The bouquet of flowers came from a prairie strip near Tim’s home. Tim works for Iowa State, traveling around the Midwest to encourage farmers to consider this effective form of soil and water conservation on waterways, end sections of fields, as well as throughout the fields, where possible, especially on hillsides.
