OABCIG will dismiss at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 6, for staff to participate in professional development.
While observing Red Ribbon Week, OABCIG Middle School students were given a powerful message about the dangers of drinking and driving. Guest speaker, Jr Joy shared his story about drinking and how his decision to drink and drive led to an accident that changed his life forever. Jr shares his story in hopes that the younger generations realize the dangers that come with alcohol consumption. Jr also shared how he now gives back to the rehabilitation hospital he was in through his truck show, Life Rolls On, A Truck Show for the Kids.
Today, OABCIG 6th graders were visited by Nick and Matt from The National Theatre for Children, who presented "Spend it or Save it". An interactive skit that focuses on teaching valuable life lessons about the differences in paying with cash, credit, and debit cards, how to prioritize needs over wants, and "only borrow what you can pay back".
OABCIG has immediate openings for Kitchen Staff.
OABCIG Middle School & Elementary's will recognize Red Ribbon Week from October 28- November 1st. Red Ribbon Week is the longest-running and largest drug awareness and prevention program in the United States that started in 1985.

This year we are trying something new - we are offering a separate P-8 yearbook for $25! We are so excited to offer a separate yearbook with the big dream of highlighting more of the amazing things the students are doing in their classes! With this 24-32 page book, we can include more candids and sports photos from middle school.
The yearbook will be delivered before the end of the school year allowing the students the fun opportunity to have their friends and teachers sign their copy.

The Falcon XC program had an impressive showing at the Western Valley Conference meet in Holstein this morning. The HS boys team finished 4th, 10 points behind third place, MVAOCOU. The MS girls team won the team championship with 29 points, two better than second place, Ridge View! Falcon runners secured 7 All-Conference medals across both the HS and MS teams. Way to go!

OABCIG's Drill Team Fill The Truck Event at this Friday night's game! They will be at the main gate of the football game from 6:00-7:00pm to collect donations!
On Wednesday, the Middle School TAG students were invited to hear Kris Gunderson explain the work of the mobile food pantry called Community Basket. This agency (which serves Odebolt, Arthur, Battle Creek, Ida Grove, Kiron, and Holstein) was recently selected as "Agency of the Year -- Rural" out of the eleven counties' agencies served by the Food Bank of Siouxland. Kris encouraged the students to think about ideas for serving or donating in the future, right here in our own community, so that they could "enter school to learn, depart from school to serve."
